About the event
This 24-hour creative event is a great opportunity for students to use the skills that they learn at Texas A&M. This Hackathon is not limited to technology and coding skills, like traditional Hackathons, but also welcomes solutions in the form of design, engineering, and spatial creativity to solve problems. We welcome students from all disciplines to participate. In previous years, students were able to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams.
The Diversity Hackathon is one of the key events led by the School of Architecture Diversity Council and is aligned with the mission of the Office for Diversity:
- “The mission of the Office for Diversity is to implement and coordinate Texas A&M University’s Diversity Plan by providing leadership and support to the academic and administrative units as they embed diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in academic and institutional excellence. The Office for Diversity works to advance accountability, campus climate, and equity across the university; to support and contribute to DEI research and scholarship; and to resist racism, bias, and discrimination in the campus communities we serve. ”.
The goal of the event is to stimulate dialogue between diversity and inclusion topics on TAMU campus and beyond among students, faculty, and staff in a creative, collaborative and interdisciplinary environment.

Theme and Challenges
Theme: Designing for Neurodivergence in a Neurotypical Space
Participants will compete to solve challenges that address topics relevant to the theme. Challenges will be presented during the kickoff event on February 17th at 5:00pm in Geren Auditorium, Langford B Building, College Station, TX 77840.
What to Submit
Powerpoint presentation required. Any additional format must be presented in the 3-minute time period.
